2820 16th Street Logistics Services: Consolidation, Deconsolidation, Truckload, Drayage, Store Delivery, Dedicated Fleet, DC Bypass, and Distribution

The 2820 16th Street facility, or commonly referred to as “A Building” is part of the 16th Street North Bergen campus of terminals. The “A Building” terminal has 50,000 square feet, and 84 cross-dock doors for containers and trailers. This facility also includes a dispatch office for the National Retail Systems, Inc.’s two fleets; Keystone Freight Corp. and National Retail Transportation, Inc.

Current services in “A Building” include consolidation, deconsolidation, warehousing, truckload, LTL, drayage, store delivery, dedicated fleet, and transload. The facility is 10 miles from the NY/NJ Ports, and 4 miles from Manhattan. Drivers only have to go a few short miles to jump on Highway 95 (North/South) to head either upstate, or down south.

Sustainability is a constant factor when acquiring space, technology, and power units. National Retail Systems, Inc. is a proud US EPA SmartWay certified business. Freight shippers, carriers, and 3PL’s partner with SmartWay to measure, benchmark and improve logistic operations so they can reduce their carbon footprint. The program launched in 2004, and is a voluntary public-private organization committed to reducing the supply chain industry’s carbon footprint.

Tractor-trailers in the NRS fleets are equipped aerodynamic trailer skirts, and low weight/low rolling resistant tire technology. Efforts are being made within the terminals and facilities nationwide with solar technology, waste recycling programs, and low wattage lighting. Other programs that have been instituted in recent years with substantiality in mind were the speed management policies and the idle emissions saving strategies that the safety department at NRS oversees.
